Carp on a Dog Biscuit Fly

CARP FLIES
We have been amazed at the number of people who have taken up fly fishing for Carp and other coarse fish. So I thought I would go and see for myself – it was incredibly exciting being able to stalk the Carp and see the reaction to the different flies presented to them.

I put on a Dog Biscuit (these Deer Hair flies float beautifully and look realistic) and first cast picked up this double figure Mirror Carp, which after a ten minutes chase up and down the lake was returned safely back to the lake. You can buy these in a Carp fly set or individually.

Great…love to fly-fish for carp. When I visit my nephew in Worcstershire he invites me to fish a great lake…..we call it the Kamikaze lake and its run by the White Swan Piscatorials. They are coarse fishermen…while I use my fly rods…using dog biscuit type stuff like yours. Its not unusual for us to catching every 2 or 3 minutes….hence the name of the lake…the fish just seem to jump out of the water on to your line. I can see this sport growing in popularity as trout fishing becomes more and more expensive. Cant wait for spring again
