ABC FLY PATTERNS
Our friend Bas Walraven in Holland has created a new concept called ABC flies.
A new concept in fly tying, the idea is really simple – just by leaving space under the top of the foam so the fly can collect air bubbles from the surface and therefore provide greater buoyancy and make the fly more attractive.
These flies also act as great bite indicators and work well as a rig where buzzers or nymphs can be hung down from the ABC fly, a really effective way of fishing.
I decided to try these out on our local Trout and Carp Lakes Dyffryn Springs near Cardiff
(www.dyffrynsprings.co.uk) and picked up this nice Carp on a Yellow ABC Parachute.
